Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced in a press conference that he is taking the Education Ministry portfolio
Tun Dr Mahathir made the announcement following a Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting at Yayasan Selangor in Petaling Jaya on 17 May.
When media asked him why wanted to take up the Education Ministry portfolio, here's what Tun Dr Mahathir said:
"I took over the Education portfolio because I think so many people are uneducated in this country. So I thought I will give my attention to that," he was heard saying to the laughter of many at the press conference.
On a serious note, he said that Malaysia's way of teaching is "outdated" and so we need to decide on a new way of teaching
